Developed by LQ graphics and offered to Windows and Mac OS X users, the Photo to Movie software application does precisely what its name says: take some photos, use the functionality the application has to offer, and you end up with a movie (a slideshow movie to be more precise). You can create a movie by zooming and panning over a photo and by using various transition effects to move from one image to another.

The Photo to Movie installation file is 20.4MB in size. Installing the application on a Windows-powered computer is as simple as launching the installation file and following the steps presented by the setup wizard. The latest version of the application supports Windows 7, Vista, and XP SP2, and Mac OS X 10.5 or newer. The setup wizard does not let you choose the installation folder; it doesn’t let you choose if you want a desktop shortcut either.

Photo to Movie’s interface is typical of an application of this sort. You have the main functions at the top and large preview windows everywhere else. To help you get started, there are links to an online help center, to video tutorials, and to a FAQ.

With the help of Photo to Movie you can take a bunch of photos and turn them into a slideshow movie. You can use a variety of transition effects to switch from one image to another in the movie. There are effects like zoom in and out, dissolve, wipes, cubes, and more. You can add titles and music to your movies if you so desire. When you’re done, you can save your movie to almost any video format.

Please note that the trial version of Photo to Movie puts a watermark on the output. To remove the watermark you must get a license.

With the help of Photo to Movie you can come up with a stunning slideshow movie. All it takes is a bit of work, but it is a pleasure to work with an application like this one.

Pros

Supports Windows and Mac OS X. Online help center, video tutorials, and a FAQ to help you get started; there are examples of what you could come up with as well, on the developer’s website. Use various transitions, add music, graphics and titles. Save the movie to any video format you want.

Cons

Can’t select the installation folder, can’t choose if you want a desktop shortcut or not, and the trial version puts a watermark on the output.
